In the fast-evolving world of business and leadership, transformation often begins not with a plan, but with a purpose. For Kaushan Manawadu, the Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Business Catalysts, that purpose emerged at the intersection of deep corporate experience, entrepreneurial energy, and a passion for unlocking human and organizational potential.
At just 27, while most professionals were still climbing the corporate ladder, Kaushan made a decisive shift. Following a successful career in the insurance and banking industry—holding senior roles such as Regional Sales Manager, Sales Trainer, and Senior Manager of Market Intelligence and Business Development—he stepped away, not in retreat, but to redefine what success truly means.
Rather than choosing between corporate excellence and entrepreneurial ambition, he pursued both.

Kaushan Manawadu is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary business leader whose journey from corporate success to transformative entrepreneurship has positioned him as a force in Sri Lanka’s evolving business landscape. His leadership at Business Catalysts—a multidisciplinary consultancy firm—embodies a seamless integration of Financial Consulting, Business Strategy, and Life & Executive Coaching, offering clients a unique “all-under-one-roof” value proposition.
Kaushan began his career in the financial services industry with Janashakthi Insurance PLC, progressing from a Business Promotion Assistant in Polonnaruwa to senior leadership roles including Assistant Portfolio Manager and later, Senior Manager – Market Intelligence & Business Development. His expertise broadened with positions at Union Bank, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation, and Allianz Insurance Lanka Ltd, where he served as Regional Sales Manager. These experiences provided him with a deep understanding of sales leadership, financial product structuring, and territory development.
By the age of 27, Kaushan transitioned into entrepreneurship—translating his extensive experience into ventures that addressed diverse market needs. This pivotal shift laid the foundation for his flagship consulting firm, Business Catalysts LLC, which now operates with three synergistic arms:
With a foundation built on over a decade in insurance, banking, and finance, Kaushan leads a specialist division offering financial advisory, risk planning, micro-investment strategies, and branded tied-agent models. He has trained and mentored numerous financial advisors and consultants across the country, pioneering Sri Lanka’s movement toward globally-aligned, client-centric financial consulting practices.
As the Lead Consultant at Business Catalysts LLC and a trusted advisor to over 150 businesses, Kaushan has become a go-to expert in strategic marketing, market intelligence, business transformation, and organizational development. He brings sector-spanning experience—from startups to established corporates—helping businesses build sustainable growth models through strategy, branding, training, and operational alignment.
Kaushan is the Managing Director & Country Manager for Noble Manhattan Coaching (UK) in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, and serves as Secretary of the International Association of Coaching – Sri Lanka Chapter. As a Certified Life & Executive Coach (UK) and NLP Practitioner (American Board of NLP), he blends modern coaching psychology with real-world leadership experience, guiding entrepreneurs, professionals, and senior executives toward peak performance and fulfillment.
In 2017, Kaushan founded Inspire Business Academy (IBA) Private Limited in his hometown of Polonnaruwa. The institute has empowered over 1,000 students across rural Sri Lanka by offering the Professional Certificate in Marketing (PCM)—a foundational marketing qualification— as a business partner of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM). This initiative marked the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey, one characterized by both significant milestones and meaningful challenges.
Building on this momentum, Kaushan co-founded Iconic Interiors (Pvt) Ltd, which has grown to rank among the top five companies in luxury kitchen design and manufacturing in Sri Lanka—demonstrating his ability to scale niche concepts into successful, competitive businesses.
Over the years, Kaushan has explored more than 10–15 startup ventures. While some evolved into thriving enterprises, others faced setbacks—each offering valuable lessons and insights that continue to shape his entrepreneurial journey.
In addition to these ventures, Kaushan also founded English Language Academy (Pvt) Ltd in Polonnaruwa, addressing a critical need for language education in the region. He is also a Director at PC.lk, a computer and appliances company operating in both Dubai and Sri Lanka, further expanding his business footprint internationally.
Continuing his impact in the education sector, Kaushan established Edurich International Campus (Pvt) Ltd, a modern evolution of the original IBA initiative. Edurich proudly partners with the Chartered Management Institute (UK)—the only global institute authorized to confer the prestigious Chartered Manager status.
These ventures represent just a few of the successfully operating entities under Kaushan’s leadership, with several more currently in the pipeline and undergoing market testing. His personal business portfolio, combined with experience leading the transformation of over 150 client businesses, has positioned Kaushan—and his team at Business Catalysts—as a truly proven and results-driven business consultancy force.
